Traditional apexification remains the preferred treatment for necrotic immature permanent teeth (61%) over REPs (37%). Although most dentists express strong support for REPs, with 90% recommending their use and 91% willing to pursue training, many perceive them as more expensive (54%), and cost was the most frequently cited barrier to adoption (63%). Despite positive attitudes and a belief in REPs’ superior efficacy (reported by 53% as their main motivation), only about half of dentists (49%) actually perform the procedure, suggesting that broader clinical uptake will depend on reducing cost concerns and expanding educational opportunities, researchers report.
