To effectively address the growing health threats posed by climate change, it is essential to develop and implement innovative and new educational approaches for the large global nursing workforce. The Global Nurses Working Group, which is based out of the Global Consortium for Climate and Health Education at Columbia University, created two solutions to overcome these obstacles. The "Nursing Climate Resources For Health Education" is an evidence-based, peer-reviewed repository of resources on climate change and planetary health. It was developed by nursing faculty and students to bridge the knowledge gap among educators regarding climate change's health impacts. The repository offers learning materials, including climate-specific learning objectives, case studies, and slide decks, designed for integration into existing nursing curricula. Another resource is Nursing on the Frontlines of the Climate Crisis: Education for Action program. The virtual, 10-week course focused on a different climate-related health effect in each presentation. Already there have been nearly 2,400 registrants for the free program, with participants joining from 133 countries around the world. The course is still available for asynchronous viewing; continuing education credits are available as well.
