By: American Medical Association

American Medical Association (03/31/25) Scott, Bruce A.

A new precision education grant program from the American Medical Association's (AMA) aims to incorporate effective and equitable models of personalized education and training into medical schools, residency programs, and lifelong learning for physicians. The Transforming Lifelong Learning Through Precision Education Program is offering 10, 4-year, $1.1 million precision education grants to support these goals. Single organizations and multi-institutional projects are welcome to apply, with letters of intent from U.S.-based programs serving medical students, residents, fellows, and practicing physicians due April 21. As healthcare has evolved, the AMA has made reimagining medical education, training, and lifelong learning a strategic priority. The latest phase focuses on precision education, which "supports lifelong learning to align physician education with the needs of patients and the community both now and in the future," explains AMA President Bruce A. Scott, MD. The projects selected for grants "will broaden access to this innovative and transformative approach that will elevate the competencies that matter most in patient care today and in the years ahead," Scott adds.
